What is the best product to use for...?

1. Nail growth and the health of the skin around the nails. I have bit my nails for YEARS now and am FINALLY trying to stop and am having a little bit of success. However, because of the trauma they've been through they are growing really slow and are kinda weak. Any suggestions for that? Also, the skin around my nails aren't in perfect condition either, so any suggestions for that would be lovely!

2. Really soft, smooth, even toned, beautiful skin???? My skin is very dry right now and I have very light skin that doesn't look very pretty right now. I'm soon going to be wearing a dress for a special occasion and want my skin to look really good.

THANKS!

What is the best product to use for...?
for the help of nail growth- Salley Hansen Nail Growth Protein (about $6.50 a bottle at a local drugstore)

You should use it daily. It's easy to apply, wears well, promotes growth, and strengthens nails.

to soften the skin around the nail- Burt's Bees Lemon-Butter Cuticle Creme ($6.00 at a local drugstore)

Massage the cream into your cuticles and nails at least once a day.

to soften and tone skin all over- Jergens Natural Glow daily moisturizer (about $5.00 at a local drugstore)

It softens your dry skin and actually tans it at the same time. But it isn't that ugly orange-looking tan. It looks natural!!! It's amazing!

hope this helps!

Reply:ANSWER TO QUESTION 1: i would suggest getting acryllic nails to cover up the damage... and when they are finished growing out... try this product: http://www.sallyhansen.com/images/produc...

you can get it at walmart for anywhere from 3-8 dollars. spread this product on just like you would nail polish... because you have already grown your nails like i said, this will restore the vitams and natural color of the nail.

ANSWER TO QUESTION 2: try exfoliating with a SUGAR scrub. its better than a SALT scrub because it is less brittle and harsh on the skin, try this product (sugar scrubs) (bodytopia.net)... this will even out your skin tone as well as restoring the moisture back into your skin... and if you are concerned with the color of your skin, try a tinted moisturizer like this: http://i.ivillage.com/BS/products_shoppi...

this can be purchased at any major beauty supply stores for about 15-25 dollars (GUESSTIMATING.)

so good luck and feel GREAT on that special occasion !
Reply:calcium tablets could help speed up your nail growth. as for skin around the nails, just use a light cream. hmm for skin, you could get a facial, make some home-made masks at home, or buy some facial creams. i have a fabulous almond milk mask that works quite well, exfoliating and brightening my skin. if you want your skin to look tanner, clinique makes a very nice bronzing powder, very natural looking %26amp; light. good luck :)
Reply:I know that prenatal vitamins have given me a totally healthy set of nail and hair and my skin is unusually clear. I don't even wear makeup as much anymore. Just the other day, I went to get my nails done and for the first time, ever, I just got a manicure on my own natural nails. Even the girls at the nail shop were impressed with the condition of my nails. Prenatal vitamins are the ticket, but don't be cheap, get the good stuff, I have a doctor's prescription for mine and they are great. I have tried over-the-counter and they do not work as well and make my tummy hurt.
Reply:i cant answer ur first question - as i dont have any idea about nail related products, but for the second question, i will suggest u to use DOVE products....they will really change ur skin, as i was in same prob like u - my skin was really dry and rough. it totally changed after i started using dove - soap, moisturiser and face cream.
Reply:Ok for question number 1, as a nail biting vetren who just nails just started growing, and haven't been bitten in almost 3 months now, I recomend Sally's Beauty supplies, Hard As Nails. Its the only thing that makes my nails hard and really works. Here's the site of the products http://www.sallybeauty.com/on/demandware...

and you can also find cutical lotions and fixers on that site too.

For the second question, you should make sure the lotion doesn't have any kind of alcohal stuff in it. This is usually found in lotions with fragrence. So go with a simple lotion brand like Jergen's or Sauve. They are cheap, but they will work better..Good luck:)
Reply:1st your nails...let the skin heal on it's own, DO NOT CHEW!! Try calcium and vitamin E supplements, because healthy nails start from the inside out. Prenantal vitamins(available over the counter for very low cost) are excellent. They will help your skin also. For your skin, use mild soap, and do not scrub, this cause irritation and microscopic damage to your skin that will make your skin look uneven. Also taking too many showers will cause your skin to dry out. If it is very dry a light moisturizer once a day(before you go to bed) will help, but shower in the morning, to prevent pimples. For prevention, always wear a sunblock on skin exposed to sunlight, even in the winter. UV rays are very harmful to your skin and can cause your skin to look unpleasant over time! Avoid harsh chemicals on your skin! And what you eat also affects what your skin and nails look like, your hair too!
