2yr old Red dobie girl has developed growth in ear.. Cancer?

I just took my girl to the vet because she just got this reddish (blood blister looking) growth on the tip of the skin folds inside her ear, and it seems to grow fast. Vet said cancer, but no other "option". I cant have it removed yet (lack of funds) and an worried it could get bigger or rupture. Has anyone had a simular growth, that wasnt cancer? I have owned 7 doberman pinschers in my life, and never seen this before. My 4 yr old Weimaraner (girl) is so co-dependant on my dobie being around her, i dont know what her/I would do if we lost my dobie.

I agree - I would get another opinion but I would do it pretty fast since it does sound like whatever it is grew fairly fast -- if it is cancerous then it could be rooted as well and those can extend pretty far, pretty fast. I am sort of concerned that the vet said this without having any sort of test run but he may be very experienced with this sort of situation. No, I have had Dobermans for fifty years and never had it but that doesn't mean much since I also have never had one die of DCM or CAH and both of those kill many Dobermans. Did the vet take any sort of biopsy and look at it under a microscope? I would think that is warranted to accurately give a diagnosis unless he is some dermatological cancer expert or something. I would, as I said before, do it fairly quick and if it is cancerous, would have it removed asap also -- most vets will work with you regarding payments or take out a loan maybe but if it is cancerous and that fast, this isn't a good place for it to be and grow fast and you don't want it to metastisize to other areas. Reply:As in people medicine, a second opinion is always valuable. Take her to a different vet. There are vets who practice homeopathy and use other methods.

Reply:I would defiantly get a second opinion. It is difficult if not impossible for a vet (or any doctor) to just look at at growth and decide it is cancer without doing a biopsy. You defiantly need to get it removed as soon as possible just in case. Contact other vets in the area and see if they are willing to work out a payment plan, or apply for a Care Card which is a credit card that can be used only from medical and veterinary expenses and has low payments and no interest as long as you pay with in a certain period (usually determined by the amount charged)
Reply:I am so sorry to hear about your dobie girl. I have never had a dobie with this type of cancer, but have had a couple with Osteosarcoma, bone cancer. Did the vet do a biopsy to determine that it is for sure cancer? If I were you I'd take her to see an oncologist vet specialist.
