How to know Kitten is getting fat?

My kitten is 3 months. Whenever I pick him up or pet him, I notice that I can feel his skin moving around more. When he was 2 months I didn't notice his skin moving around. He doesn't look fat, but he does seem to have more skin. Maybe it's just natural growth. I feed him the recommended amount of babycat food and he gets 2 or 3 treat pits a day. He's an indoor cat and is always crazy and active.

As long as you are feeding him the recommended amount of food and he is active, you don't need to worry. He is growing right now.

After about 6 months old, their growth slows down quite a bit. Then, you should be able to feel his ribs when you pet him gently. If you can't feel his ribs, he is too fat. Right now, if you try to limit his food too much, you would be depriving him of the nutrients and calories that he needs to grow.
Reply:Don't worry my cat is sort of under weight i think but it is probably natural it happened to my 4 month old kitten and my friends kitten.
Reply:Any time you notice a significant difference in your cat's body you should ask your vet. It could be a sign of something serious.
Reply:when their belly expands
