I'm 15. I struggle with persistent acne, and have since 11. I keep telling myself it's only puberty and it'll go away since my parents didn't have such terrible skin like I do. But that's not all, maybe it's because I'm a girl and I'm more prone to sensitivity but I always compare myself to my friends. I mean, really?
I have no boobs AT ALL. I'm a 32-34A, where as my friends are all B's or C's. And they have cleavage! I'm short, have a PIZZA FACE, babyfat, flat chest, and an annoying little girl voice. When my friends are all done with their growth spurt, have FLAWLESS SKIN, babyfat all gone, BOOBS, and sound like they're 21. I hate my skin. I hate applying medicated creams and taking pills to help me when it doesn't help at all, I hate everything about me right now. Guys don't even give me a second glance unless it's the construction workers outside. My parents treat me like my 9 year old sister. Will life eventually get better? It seems like with age, things get worse.
Ladies, help
I hate puberty! Ladies, help me? Why am I so hung up over all this?
i am fifteen as well and i can't say i have no boobs or am not tall cus i am in a c cup and am 5'11 but i just thought u should know that it isn't great being like me either. i have huge boobs and wide hips which is so not flattering and it is always hard to find a shirt that works and i have huge feet and i am taller then most of the guys in my freshmen class and it really sucks... because then it feels weird standing next to them and i couldn't imagine myself ever going out With one of them .... just imagine how funny that would look!! lol but then i look at the nerdy girl who is laughed at everyday and think well my life and my body i just the way god wants it and heck its not as bad as hers. so i just kinda work harder to make myself happy with me.
p.s try a water bra or a push up bra
p.p.s try proactiv it really does work i have been using it for almost two and a half months and i already have clearer skin my only prob now is i have underlying acne which is slowly going away.
Reply:For your acne, this is what I do. Dont use chemicals on ur face it will not help.
Eat organic veggies, fruits, water, nuts, and seeds. Dont eat refined pasta or bread or rice or anything. Eat whole grain carbs. Eat organic meat (look for the label to say organic). The organic food may take a longer time to make a difference, but its healthier and worth not taking a risk of eating foods with pesticides or steroids in them. Try to avoid dairy, junk food and sugary snacks, and soda. If you are eating this stuff then ur wasting your time trying to clear your skin up. See most of the time acne is caused by imbalanced hormones and congesting toxins that come from certain foods. The congesting toxins get into your blood stream because your system is not doing a good job eliminating them. Eventually they exit out through your skin, usually on your face which is where we have the most sebaceous glands (glands that allow toxins to excrete). Its OK to have oily skin, but when you mix oily skin with toxic waste from foods trying to exit out our pores, acne is formed. Oily skin alone cannot cause acne.
When u do this diet, you should also take lots of vitamins, fiber supplements, and refrigerated above room temperature fish oil and flax oil supplements. Excercise too. The key to this diet is to flush the bad stuff out of your body and keep putting only healthy things in it so you don't break out. If you pee and poop more, your skin usually clears up more. Try too poop as much as possible (i know it sound silly but its true)
Chemicals, face washes, creams, lotions, etc. they DONT WORK FOR ACNE! They will only make your skin much more sensitive. All the hype about there being bad bacteria on our faces is untrue. There is bacteria everywhere in our bodies. Not all of it harms us. You only need to wash you face with water. You can also try putting extra virgin olive oil on your skin if you really need a moisturizer. But your skin usually moisturizes it self if its healthy.
Reply:everyone goes through this..
1-screw those guys..they dont know what theyre missing
2-boys like girls who are confident
3-go to the doctor and ask for these pads called "erythro pledgets" they take away acne and the marks
4-you have time to grow boobs
5-do not compare yourself to other ppl..nobodys perfect
6-love yourself no matter what
Reply:don't worry i'm in the same situation completely flat and acne. for me this prescription stuff called ziana worked you can ask your dermotoligist about it but i guess we'll just have to wait.
Reply:for acne, try acne free. it really, really works. just give it like two weeks, you'll see a difference. try wearing a push up bra, or maybe invest in a water bra. [have little water filled things in them]
if you wear skinny jeans with high heels, you'll be tall and fashionable ad look older. if you still have baby fat around the stomach area, try a baby doll top, which flies over your midsection.
Reply:I know that it is no consulation for you now, but all that WILL go away, and you will be pretty and happy. You'll probably look and sound YOUNG, when all of you friends are looking and sounding like old ladies.....just try and be patient.
Reply:your friends could be having boob pads/pushup bra, really good foundation and concealers, make up and high heels, you know... as for more confidence (and it is reflected in your voice) try to exercise more... this is what im doing so good luck to both of us! :) oh and take some care to have nice hair and nice clothes too, you dont need to be fashionista but hair and clothes do help...
Reply:You know ... I hear people say things like "man, if I could be 15 again!" As if they would love it - HA! I would not be 15 again if my only other choice was being turned into a man. (shudder)
It will get better - boobs are over rated (IMnsHO) you have to worry about bra's, how much cleavage you should show and well ... some men just won't meet your eyes because they are so interested in what is on your chest.
Drink a lot of water, find some good skin care products and use them consistently. Zits will calm down and not be so present by the time you reach your 20's - but I hate to tell you that they never really go away - I'm 40 and I still get a zit once in a while. (though I worry about wrinkles more)
The things you are worried about now will not seem so huge later - by then you will have other things to worry about. There is always going to be something in life or about yourself that you are not going to like. I hate my thighs - but I have learned to live with them. How you deal with all the crap life throws at you is up to you - avoid drama, be nice to the dweebs slinking around the corners of your school and try not to fight with your mom.
Reply:The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
