Will merina help?

I have been using Yasmin for awhile and OrthoTriCyclin Lo before and on both had problems with acne, melasma (dark patches of skin) and unwanted hair growth. I had tried several other orals before, with other side effects such as spotting, weight gain and long lasting heavy bleeding.


Will merina help stop these side effects?


I am mostly trying to get rid of the melasma, it is getting really bad and is starting to form spots in my mouth and inside my eye lids. I've been under varoius treatments for it with no noticable results.


Advice please.

Any hormonal contraceptive (pills, patch, Mirena) will cause the same or similar side effects. I am currently using the non-hormonal Para-Gard IUD, which is similar to Mirena but does not contain hormones, and it is good for up to 10 years. I have heard horror stories about IUDs in general, but I haven't had any major problems with mine except that my periods are a little heavier than before. I've had it for two years now and it's been effective birth control for me. Get with your OB/GYN so you can discuss other options.
Reply:i have similar problems and have decided to stop altogether and have felt great for 6 weeks now. I am totally against hormonal birth control now. i have not been myself since our last child was born but lately I have been feelin groovy- don't know about mirena but natural is the way to be!!!!!!!!
Reply:I don't recomend mirena to anyone go to this website and check out the horror stories about it I also have one myself it perforated through my uterus and is now in my abdominal cavity and I have had 2 surgerys and they still have not been able to remove it I will have my 3rd surgery in Dec
