Is there any way to make my hair grow faster?

I, being the idiot I am, decided my bangs were too long and I'd take care of them myself. I have a concert on Tuesday next week and I really don't like how my hair now looks. Since, like fingernails, hair is made of keratin, would speeding up keratin production (somehow, but all I know about keratin is that it's dead skin cells) make for faster hair growth? Thanks in advance.
