Kitten Shots.?

About 2 weeks ago I took both my kittens in for their final shots (which includes rabies). Well, after the shot I had noticed that they both had a bump in the spot where the needle was placed. I just chalked it off to being normal - considering they just had something pierce their skin.

Well - two days ago my boyfriend said that Montgomery (my male kitten) had a weird bump on his back (right behind the shoulder blade are). We tried to look under his fur but couldn't see anything.

Then last night I noticed that Murphee (my female kitten) had the exact same kind of bump, in the exact same spot.

Would their skin still have reacted this way from a shot after 2 weeks time? Or do all cats have this weird bump on their back?

To me it feels like a growth under their skin....

P.S. Neither Kitten has fleas or ticks or anything as they have been checked and cleared of that. They are both indoor kittens.

Kitten Shots.?
There is a lot of controversy over vaccinations these days, especially in cats. One of the world's leading veterinarians and researchers, Dr James Richards (who recently died) was an expert on the subject. He was known in particular for educating veterinarians and the public after cancerous growths called sarcomas began to be observed in the 1990s on the skin of some newly vaccinated cats. Under Dr. Richards, the feline center embarked on a study of vaccine-related sarcomas, their causes and possible remedies.
Reply:It very will could be from the injection and may take longer to settle down. Call your vet to make sure. Ask your vet how long you can expect for the injection site to be swollen.
Reply:It is possible, but it is something I would ask my vet about. If the growth gets larger, that would be something to be concerned about, as it could indicate a very rare situation. Only your vet can give you a responsible answer; anything else would be simply speculation.
Reply:I think that is is very weird. I agree with everyone else that you should ask the veterinarian just to make sure. it very well may be infected. i hope for the best for montgomery and murphee. i hope will get better. c u l8er
