What should I do about the growth on my parakeet's cere?

It looks like skin, and it hurts her when I try to clip it off. She doesn't bleed, and it just grows right back. It is starting to move toward her eyes, and she has been sleeping a lot. Other than the excessive sleeping, she seems very healthy; she breathes normally, she isn't too hot or cold, and she is eating and flying just as much as usual. I am only worried that this growth will cover her eyes or nostrils. What can I do to get rid of it?

What should I do about the growth on my parakeet's cere?
Vitamin A Deficiency:

This is frequently unrecognized in its subclinical forms in pet birds. White plaques (hyperkeratosis) in and around the mouth, eyes, and sinuses are typical. Blunting or absence of the choanal papilla is common. Chronic epithelial conditions, eg, pododermatitis, sinusitis, and conjunctivitis, that have been refractory or recurrent often have vitamin A deficiency as the primary etiology. Parenteral vitamin A can be given IM at 100,000 U/kg. Vitamin A precursors, such as spirolina, sprinkled daily over the food are a way to supplement birds deficient in vitamin A. The diets of all caged birds should be evaluated for vitamin A content.
Reply:Take her to an avian vet, she is OBVIOUSLY unwell.

If you were sick, or had an 'abnormal growth', and you were basically helpless.. You would want someone to take you to a doctor. It's considered abuse to deny an animal medical help-why don't people understand this? Why don't people understand that you DON'T buy a pet unless you can pay provide for it completely..
Reply:Why would you even try to clip a growth off in the first place? It's obviously a tumor of some sort that could be cancerous and you just are putting this bird through pain by doing what you are doing!!!

It's also considered Cruelty and stress to preform what you are doing without admistering any novacaine before "clipping" the growth.

Please seek medical advice, before you go "clipping" an artery that is attached to this growth.
Reply:Your bird may have what is called Hypertrophy of the Cere, which case you must take your bird to a vet. Please do NOT try to clip it off! Not only might you be causing unnecessary pain to your bird, but you may induce an infection. Take your bird to a vet to determine the cause of the growth...
Reply:I would try clipping it and soaking it in vitamin water. If that doesn't work after repeated treatments see a vet
