Did you pierce your peppers with a small needle or paper clip several times before drying? If the fungus looking growth is powdery or fuzzy looking. I wouldn't use them. It won't hurt you but it gives a funny taste to your salsa and other food you use them in.
Reply:that is the veins of the chilli, they have dried out as well...perfectly safe to eat, and they have a lot of heat!
