Is shaving the opoosite direction harmful?

I always shave in the direction oppostie to the direction of hair growth. Is that harmful or bad for the skin? I do that because it gives a clean and neat shave.

Is shaving the opoosite direction harmful?
Well it entirely depends on where you're shaving, but for male genitals it's the best option, and for facial regions. Yet you are more prone to enfolding hairs and pus-outbreaks. But it's true. shaving in the opposite direction does look better, and so most people do do it.
Reply:The only problem derives from what you seek--a cleaner and neater shave. In doing so, you trim the hairs as short as possible, which can lead to a greater risk for in-grown hairs. Also, you place the blade closer to the skin, which can damage your skin over time.

If you're going to shave in the direction of the hair growth (like you should be) try placing a warm towel over your face beforehand, or shaving right after you get out of the shower. That will help to remove oils from your face, allowing the hairs to stand up more so the blade can cut them.

...and no, shaving in the opposite direction is definitely NOT the best option for male genitals. That also allows a greater risk of nicking yourself with the blade, and that's one area where you don't want to do it!
