A growth question?

I am an 18 year old male( turning 19 in 2 months) and I have grown 3/4 of an inch in the past year. However my growth as always kind of been steady, I never really had a huge growth spurt( peak was 2 inches in one year 14-15) At 5'8 3/8 at just 15 my growth pattern told me that I was going to be 5'11, well it never happened( Dad is 5'11 mom 5-4-5'5) Both of my grandpas were 6 feet). when I turned 17 I had grown only to 5 foot 9. I Thought I was done growing( even though I looked like a 14 year old without any hair on my face) Well when I turned 18 during last summer, all of a sudden my voice started cracking, started growing light facial hair, fine chest hairspimples all over the place and grew 3/4 of an inch to my current height of 5'9 3/4. I still have very oily skin and my voice still breaks occasinaly and my facial hair grows very slow. Do you think I am going to be one of those people who doesn't stop growing until 21 or I have stopped already? Has anyone hear experienced this?

A growth question?
sounds like you're jsut a late bloomer.

yeah, you probably wont stop growing for another few years bcuz well, you're just now going through things that other guys go through around 16..and how long until those guys stop growing?? about 2 yrs!

sooo you may grow another inch or two!
Reply:It is common for slight growth through the late teen to early twenties. No one can truly answer your question. If you are hoping to gain as much height as possible all you can really do is take very good care of your health and let your body do its thing. Eat well, take vitamins and sleep well. Your body will not top out if you are burning the midnight oil.

I would also avoid things that are known to stunt your growth. Coffee is one of these things.
Reply:A friend from High School was about 5'4" when he graduated, and over 6' at our 10 year reunion.

You've noted that you are seeing physical changes more typical of someone younger. You could definitely have a few more years of growht. I think you're just going to have to wait and see. The rest of us did too... just while we were too busy being squirrely adolecents to notice.
Reply:Jason, my husband "grew" until age 24. Both of our sons were short in high school and continued to grow until age 24.

As a male at age 18 your bones are definately not mature. Your bones will go through a thicking process that will add height. Only time will tell how much.
Reply:you might have already stoped gwroth.
Reply:I had exactly this happen. I was 5 10 at 18, ended up to be 6 foot. I did not stop growing until I was 24!
