Went to the dentist yesterday?

with what i thought was a ulcer on my gum.it is a white patch that is alittle sore, having checked it out,the dentist called it a boney out growth(a piece of bone with a thin layer of skin over it),which gives it the white colour.the dentist said that it may never go away, but why is it sore?,can anyone please provide more info on this %26amp; maybe the proper name for it,thank you.

Went to the dentist yesterday?
tricky one
Reply:Ask the dentist next time you see him/her
Reply:it'll be sore because the bone is raising your gum to cover it, if it is a bony growth, then it won't go away, but it won't be sore forever either
Reply:I'm guessing it's sore because it's poking through your gum.

But that's just my opinion.
Reply:I would of thought that your dentist would have sorted this for you by removing the offending piece of bone.

Sometimes, after a tooth extraction, you can get tiny bits of splinter coming to the surface and these can be removed with tweezers.

If it is loose bone, then ask your Dentist to remove it for you to relieve your pain.

Some Bonjella teething jelly, may help to take the soreness away in the meantime.
