My boyfriend has recently developed two wart like growths quite high up on his groin. From what I have seen and read about genital warts am not sure these fit the bill. One of them in particular is like a skin tag and from what I have seen they tend to be actually on the penis in clusters.
We are a little concerned because we have been together for a year now and from what I have read genital warts "break out" in most cases within a few months of contact. He said if he has got something like that - he would look to me - which I took great offence to. Any thoughts?
Genital warts or normal?
go to a clinic and have him checked out. in the meantime only have protected sex if you can't stop having sex, that would be better for you health wise to not have sex
Reply:see a doctor and then work out whether you trust him.
Reply:Absolutely I would have taken offence and kicked his ****. They do sounds like warts but the only way to know for sure would be to see a doctor. Some things like herpes can lay dormant for months before an outbreak so it could also be that, I would certainly get it checked out because you could get/have it too.
Reply:These are indeed genital warts and his will spread and grow in more clusters. They are very contaigous and never fully go away. They have to burn them of laser or freeze. Most people don't seek treatment out of embarrassment or until the spreading is unbearable. Get awy from him fast and see you Dr. for preventive advice. Also get an HIV test....it may be worse than genital warts, if he has those he may have multiple STD's Oh you said not cluster's Sorry I reread and edited. Both of you get checked out then and perhaps it's just normal skin tags as you say and high on the groin possible if the woman was on top...but just be responsible and mutually have a physical, hopefully with a clean bill of health. Use Condoms in the future unless you are 100% monogomous to each other.
Reply:Normal? I doubt that. Warts on the penis in "clusters" isn't normal whether it's a case of some STD or not. Without a picture however, no one can tell, and even then we're mostly not doctors (and even if we were it would be difficult to diagnose accurately without others tests). So get that boy to a doctor (and go in with him). If he ends up in a government lab it probably wasn't genital warts but he may, in fact, actually be an alien from outer space. Why do you think they call them little green men anyway?
Reply:Warts vary it can take years and not months for gental warts to develop, so he may have caught them before he met you, if you insist that you don't have them, prove to him that it's not you who gave them to him, go and see a doctor together to prove him wrong, he could have caught them years ago and they are only starting to come up now, also get checked yourself coz in years to come, you could have them too...i would be offended too if my partner accused me of giving him warts, or any STD for that matter...he has some apologising to do, and some explaining....

check out this link...i hope this helps
Reply:from your explanation sounds like it is a wart, but there are warts tha are sexually transmitted in nature, that is the wart you and your bf should worry abouts, and then there are the common type of warts that viral also but not due to std, but since the location is in his private, then i think it is the the first kind. have him check up by a doctor and you should too, because the risk is cervical cancer, in case you have it, and besides if you have it in the cervix, only the dr can see it. the gyne can perform a test to check if you have it too. then both of you needs to be treated "pingpong effect".... have it check early.... whether you trust each other or not.., it is a serious matter.
Reply:I had this experience recently, except it was me with the lump. I flipped out, we have been together for three years, and he was highly offended. I went to the doctor and it turned out that I had an inflamed ingrown hair. I felt really stupid. Just make him go to the doctor and get it done and over with, the longer he waits the more stress you are putting on your relationship.
Reply:Genital warts grow mainly in the genital area, but they can also develop in the groin, thighs, perineal [between the genital and anal] area, and even inside the mouth, on or around the lips. They are usually pendiculated [have a small stalk], and look like a cauliflower or broccoli sprout. The color can vary from pinkish, to garyisk-white. They are caused by the HPV [Human Papilloma Virus], mainly by the strains 11 and 6 of this virus. You're right in your assertion about the incubation period: genital warts appear within 3 weeks to 4 months from contact with the infected person, even if this person has a subclinical infection [carries the virus and transmits it to others, but has no visible symptoms or lesions].
In March of 2007, I noticed a very small "bump" in my upper vulvar area. Given the case that I'd had an steady partner since December 2004 [which happens to be my ex-husband], the last thing I thought of was that I might have acquired an STD. Over time, the small "bump" grew to a pendiculated, cauliflower-like wart the size of a small grape, grayish-white in color by early September 2007. I showed it to him, and said that I thought it was a venereal wart and that he had infected me, given the facts that the incubation period is from 3 weeks to 4 months AND that the last time I'd had sex with a man other than him was on June 2003. He had no visible lesions, and [nervous and stuttering, for which I immediately recognized that he was lying; he'd been my husband from August 1995 to January 2003], assured me that he hadn't had sex with any other woman but me since December 2004. About a week later, he broke up with me; I did a little investigation on my own, and learned that my BF/ex-husband had been dating not one but several different women all the time he'd been having a "steady" relationship with me. I made an appointment with my Gynecologist, who confirmed my suspicions last Thursday: I had a venereal wart [condyloma acuminata], and I'd been infected sometime during the period of November 2006 to February 2007. I confronted my ex-boyfriend/ex-husband, and he continued to deny that he was the one that infected me. I started mentioning the names/ workplaces/ addresses of all the women he'd been dating [at least the ones I know about], and demanded that he pay for MY treatment which costs $2,175 for a 16-week supply [not covered by my insurance]. At first he refused; I replied that I was going to talk to the parents of a certain 13 y/o 7th grader "girlfriend" he had among his roster of women [he's 43 and the girl is under the age of consent, legally speaking]. That was the "coup de grace"; he almost peed and $#!t in his pants. Smelling a jail sentence for statutory rape, he called his boss to ask that his Christmas bonus be paid up front for "emergency medical expenses"; the boss said that the check will be ready this Tuesday [tomorrow] at 1 PM. I'll be sure to be waiting at his workplace before it opens for business tomorrow; I hope that this works so I can get treated. If he tries to scurry out... I'll proceed to talk not only to this minor's parents, but to all of the women I found out about. It may sound that I'm coming on too hard on him; but it's only fair that he pays for the treatment of the disease he, and nobody else, inflicted on me. I hope this information has been of help, and feel free to contact me using the link provide in my profile if you want to further discuss this very important health issue.
