Alright- so I know I just asked a question about positive OPK's for several days (about six so far) in a row. I went to www.peeonastick.com like someone suggested and read that having so many positive OPK's can be a sign of PCOS. I started reading the Signs/Symptoms and I don't really have ANY of them except skin tags. My periods are regular. I don't have excess hair growth. I have never missed a period, either. I've also had my ovaries checked with a sonogram and had no cysts, either. I'm just really scared. I know it's not normal for an OPK to be positive for this long... someone with PCOS explain to me how you were diagnosed and what symptoms you had?
PCOS question?
I have PCOS. I was diagnosed by going to the dr, and telling them that I have not conceived with ttc for a year. My dr. asked me questions, such as having skin tags, acne, weight gain, abnormal hair growth. I did have all of those things. I was sent for an ultrasound and didn't have any cysts on my ovaries. We then did blood tests and it showed that my testosterone level was extremely high, which is another sign of PCOS. So that is how I found out.
Something to keep in mind though, after studying this disorder for a while now, I have learned that women can have all the signs, or just 1. So it is entirely possible that you can have it with just skin tags. I would call your dr and let them know that you want to have lab work done to check your hormone level. This will help ease your mind, and possibly rule out PCOS. Hope that helps!!!
Reply:I don't really have any of the signs besides no periods, but I went to the doctor after trying to conceive for a year and not having a period for 3 months and they did a blood test. So, if your doctor does a blood test, he will be able to tell if you have PCOS.
