I shaved yesterday for my boyfriend and grew back by today a bit! ..I think I have a shaving rash (red sore skin) ..I was always told to shave in the opposite direction of growth to avoid ingrown hairs etc. Anyways its really sore and red ..will they have grown back by thursday because I cant go back to college like this its awful!! Its especially sore on the left for some reason and if I touch it it HURTS like crazy!! ..that why i dont want to put cream on it!
Itchy shaved pubes?
don't shave, he'll get use to it. gl
Reply:Don't laugh but get a diaper rash type ointment. It will actually help cool your skin and get one with Aloe Vera.
Reply:Eh, I did the same thing all you can do is wait it out.. or pluck the ingrown hairs..
Reply:hahaaha *** to my place i can shave for you
Reply:WE NEED PICS
jk
i'd say put ice on it but that might look weird lol,
let it run its course it should be fine by thursday
Reply:ouch....good luck
Reply:You're supposed to moisturise with an unscented moisturiser after shaving, and exfoliate every day to stop dead cells building up and blocking follicles, which will cause ingrown hairs. It shouldn't be so bad by Thursday, but definately moisturise it, and exfoliate when it doesn't hurt too much.
And yes, you are supposed to shave against the grain after trimming, or you're not going to get a very close shave. Not shaving against the grain gives you stubble straight after shaving, which will just make you itch even more. It helps to sit in a hot bath for a while to soften the hairs first, which makes it a lot easier. If you don't it sometimes bleeds, especially when you're shaving stubble.
Reply:Whoever told you to shave against the grain is a sadist; don't do that anymore. Always shave with the grain, at least when it's your pubes. Put aloe vera lotion (the green stuff) on it, and keep doing it! It'll soothe the pain and help the skin heal faster. Just, in the future, don't shave in the opposite direction, and I'd advise you to ditch the friend that told you to do it otherwise.
Reply:you have a shaving rash. try a silly product called coochie cream, supposed to be the best for shaving down there!
take a bath and dont itch in the mean time.
Reply:put aloe on it to soothe it..it will hurt for a second but it will help!
Reply:noooo for hairs like that you need to shave in the direction of the hairs, not in the opposite! ouch!! and it sounds like you have some razor burn, just put some lotion or aloe vera on the area (don't worry, it's totally safe) and you'll feel fine. It probably will grow back a liiiiitttle bit by thursday, but if you keep shaving it will eventually stop itching/hurting, your body will get used to it.
Reply:yeah eww girl. i shave down there, and omg whatever you do, do notttt go in the opposite direction, big mistake. that rips and causes irritated pores. do it in the same direction with a fresh blade, and put cream on as soon after. nothingg you can do about it growing back fast, it just does.
Reply:well seeing as how this area will be exposed to people in a couple of days... shave it again! and see what happens

Sugar based exfoliant.
Reply:I think you should put something on it. Maybe some unscented oatmeal lotion like aveeno or look for something for razor burn in the men's shaving section... something to soothe your discomfort. HYDROCORTISONE maybe?
I hope you used a new good razor and some good shaving cream because that can cause a lot of irritation if you don't.
maybe next time try something like "bikini bare" instead of actually shaving.
Reply:this is why i don't shave, i just trim. it hurts like a B when it's growing back. you could get a wax, seems like that doesn't hurt as much growing back but hurts like heck when being ripped out.
and i think that you're supposed to shave in the SAME direction of hair growth to prevent ingrown hairs and irritation.
Reply:They probably will not be grown back by Thursday, but it may feel a bit better.
You want to apply a aloe vera-based cortisone cream, other tree oil sprays or lotions, aftershave or lotion to sooth your skin. They sell special hydrating creams to help prevent and treat razor burn as well.
Reply:im no expert.. *looks around* but i think you should either just wax or keep doing it until you get used to it... or just trim...
lmao, nice insightful question though ;)
Reply:Lol Razor burn... get a new razor
Reply:Pubic shaving actually originated in ancient Egypt and Greece when prostitutes had to shave for both hygienic reasons and as a clear sign of their profession.
The porn industry is where it was common for women to shave the pubic area. As pornography has become more accepted in the general public, more women have mimiced what they have seen. In this way, pubic hair shaving has become mainstream.
Although shaving may be becoming the social norm, that does not mean you should do it.
There can be health consequences associated with any type of depilation: shaving, waxing, clipping, tweezing, threading or laser treatment. Your pubic area is especially sensitive to these hair-removal techniques.
Possible Consequences
Itching
Razor burn
Nicks
Cuts
Bumps
Blisters/Pimples
Genital infections
Ingrown hairs
Folliculitis: an infection in the hair follicle usually caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph) or a fungus. A common cause of folliculitis is recently shaved hairs re-growing out of the follicle and curling back around to irritate the skin.
You should consider if this is worth the trouble; what is appealing now may not be after four or five weeks of daily shaving.
TREATMENTS
Itching/irritation: Apply 1 percent hydrocortisone two or three times per day. Avoid shaving for two months.
Razor burn: Use aloe vera to soothe sensitive skin and help alleviate the pain.
Bumps: Take a warm bath, and see your doctor if the bumps don’t clear up after one week.
Blisters/pimples: As long as they’re not painful and don’t bother you, there’s no problem. Keep them clean and dry, and do not pick them.
Genital infections: Consult your doctor.
Ingrown hairs: Do not pick at them as this could cause infection. To prevent ingrown hairs, shave downward with the angle of the hair, or clip hairs instead of shaving. Also, some creams can help exfoliate the skin and relieve ingrown hairs.
Folliculitis: If folliculitis is mild, a topical over-the-counter antibiotic will work, such as polysporin, Neosporin or bacitracin used two or three times per day.
ALTHOUGH MEN LIKE A SHAVED WOMAN, I have told my husband that when he starts shaving his privates down there, then I will - and that ends the conversation right there!!! (smile)
Reply:same problem when i shave. dont put cream down there cuz ur dik will burn. just deal with it
Reply:Aloe Vera. is your best bet,,,,,,,,it will soothe you,,try some on your arm to see if you are allergic first
Reply:use an aloe based lotion and prepare for some pimple looking bumps.. shave down then up
Reply:hahahahahahahaha thats never happened to me before but i dont shave anymore i just trim
Reply:Hahaha *points and laughs*
That'll teach you!
Reply:Something like Drapolene cream will help. Its generally used for babies with nappy rash and so is soothing and will cure the redness and soreness. Please give it a try, you will be relieved. btw it will grow back a little - takes about a month to grow half an inch. Have a Happy New Year.
Reply:You were told to shave in the opposite direction? That's funny because I was always told to do the opposite. Either way, your problem could only get better as each day passes. The hair will grow, and your skin will eventually adjust. I'm assuming you're skin's a little sensitive, perhaps not used to being shaved all the way, so it's a little sore. I suggest you get a different razor, maybe purchase a hypo-allergenic shaving cream the next time you shave.
Just curious...why exactly can't you go to college with a red/sore pubic region? Who else is going to see your vaginal work of art?
Reply:Nope, it'll be about 9 days. You'd better bravely put cream. get 'Vita Fons' by mail order, look it up on Google. That'll do it. The cream.
I sympathise. I did it once; that was enough.
Reply:Look at those answers, Why bother at all! Make your Boy-friend shave AS Well!
Reply:You either keep re-shaving or you put alot of talc there
Reply:leave things as they were
